This latest piece is something completely different for me. My work has been less and less representational the past few months, but this is the first piece that is completely abstract. I’m generally pleased with it, and have gotten some good feedback. (This piece was one of three June winners in the Lake County Art League monthly competition.) I’m working on something else similar in size, composition, and color, but with different materials and method. Not sure if this will develop into a series, or if I will stop with the two. But I think this direction has definitely worked to combat the stagnation I was feeling a month or two ago, and I think I might be starting to “add value.”
