Memorial Portrait

A few months back I donated a custom portrait to an auction, and now that Christmas is over I can finally share the project. The winner asked me to do a portrait of her recently deceased father to give as a Christmas present to her mother. I was so honored to be part of such a special Christmas gift, and am sharing the drawing here with the purchaser’s permission.

The Baby and The Toddler

This piece refused to photograph well. It was wrapped and ready to be given as a gift, and after seeing the photograph I had taken of it I furiously unwrapped it to fix it. Once unwrapped the piece looked fine, and just needed to be re-photographed. The second try wasn’t much better, but I’m posting it anyway since I love the piece itself. I think the camera is as depressed as I am about the lack of sunshine.

Holiday Decorations

I’ve been more furiously creative than ever during this holiday season, but my most recent projects are all unpostable until Christmas passes and recipients have been duly surprised. Here are a few images from our holiday decorations. Recent work will be posted soon.

I love the rainbows-they appear on one of my tabels for about 30 minutes every afternoon and then they are gone.

First Snow

A few days ago, very early in the morning, we had the first snowfall of the season. It was light, and lovely, and everything a first snowfall should be. The toddler, baby, and I all threw coats on over our pajamas and ran out to get some photos.
